This piece was inspired by the blooming crab apple trees that line Minnesota Avenue each spring—planted decades ago by a neighbor in memory of his wife, a passionate gardener. He offered the trees freely to anyone in the neighborhood, with one request: plant them in the front yard. With care from the Park Point Garden Club, those trees still thrive today, turning the street into a canopy of pink blossoms.
The fabric collage features a chickadee perched among the flowers, backed by hand-dyed fabric in deep blue tones that make the soft petals and pale feathers glow. It’s a small tribute to love, generosity, and the beauty that grows from community roots.
This piece was purchased by a Park Point neighbor, which felt like the perfect full circle.
